Her passion is helping professionals maximize their personal growth and career satisfaction while simultaneously creating positive outcomes for their organization. Kirstin's approach to training and coaching is focused on helping professionals develop their strengths and mindset so they can set goals, overcome barriers, and create a plan that aligns their own career growth with measurable outcomes for their organization. Her work in this area includes career development coaching, presentations and workshops on overcoming imposter syndrome, and helping leaders become great coaches for their own teams. Kirstin also works with organizations to help them develop a culture of peer learning where team members take an active role in their own growth, and the growth of their coworkers, by creating a collaborative culture of learning and continuous improvement. Kirstin has 25 years of experience as an environmental professional working on public improvement projects for organizations including the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, Caltrans, SANDAG, California High-Speed Rail Authority, Department of Water Resources, and the State Water Quality Control Board. As part of that work, she has been managing teams for more than 12 years. Throughout that time, Kirstin has designed and facilitated impactful learning experiences, including professional development training and coaching, peer-to-peer learning, university courses, community workshops, and compliance trainings. For every audience and environment, her focus is on creating learning and growth opportunities that produce measurable results, using learning and performance science-based best practices. Kirstin teaches at the University of San Diego, where she is working with leaders in the Department of Environmental and Ocean Sciences to develop new professional-track courses and certificates for environmental studies majors. Kirstin earned her Ph.D. in Ecology from the SDSU/UC Davis Joint-Doctoral Program. When she's not working on developing amazing learning experiences (which is one of her favorite things to do!), Kirstin can be found listening to audio books while taking long walks, playing video games, or going on adventures with her wonderful partner and their dog, Thurman. |
